Great New “How To” Video

added to our CellularWindowShade’s YouTube channel
(remember to subscribe!)

cordloop video

This video augments our written instructions, mailed with every “Valet Kit” (2 cords per kit) order; it does not replace it. So now two great sources for Do-It-Yourselfers.

The instructions are specific to the Symphony Shade brand of window blinds, though you should be able to extrapolate the general concept, if you have some other type of cord loop shade. Give the video a look! It’s an easy in-home fix to a broken window shade.

Introducing the CWS “QUICK SHIP” program: Our most popular fabrics and colors can be yours with less waiting. We still offer *FREE* UPS Ground shipping to the Continental US – but let us know if faster UPS delivery is desired.

Sally in Idaho orders a Top Down Bottom Up (Duofold) shade in color ALTO (see fabric sample) on Tuesday Night – with our new QUICK SHIP program that shade will be heading out the door in two business days. UPS will be standing at Sally’s door five business days later (unless Sally lives in the tiny area that needs one extra UPS day).

Bob in Buffalo wants a black out blind shading that street lamp in his guest bedroom. Gardenia is his color of choice, and he opts for ComforTrack Plus side tracks and the Smoothy Cord Loop lift option. He orders on Friday and by mid-next-week his order is boxed and ready to ship. Bob lives two business days from the manufacturing facilities of CellularWindowShades.com, located in Williston, Vermont.

Our QUICK SHIP is developed around our *POPULAR* fabrics and colors. What are they? Here’s a list:

LIGHT FILTERING fabrics

  • ALTO (#100) – white
  • HARP (#101) – cream
  • MANUSCRIPT (#106) – off white
  • CAMEO (#108) – warm cream
  • DANCE (#118) – light taupe
  • VIENNA WOOD (#124) – dark taupe
  • FLUTE (#131) – dark grey [while supplies last]
  • MISTY (#132) – light grey [while supplies last]
  • BATON (#180) – sand

BLACK OUT fabrics

How to order? Start with your measurements . . . for windows and skylights. Other shades – even arches – available (“standard” production times apply, although rush requests are considered).

2-Day turnaround means:
This Living Room could have
new shades by the weekend!

As the nation readies for Boca Raton, and the last presidential debate, I take this opportunity to mention the Debate on Foreign goods. CellularWindowShades.com builds the skylights and window blinds in our facility in Williston, Vermont – from US-made parts and fabrics. No spun-lace cellular shade fabric – Symphony Shades are made with high quality bonded polyester. Plastic parts and brackets? Not for our shades!

As the country moves towards the upcoming election, as the weather segues into winter for much of the nation, as the holiday season approaches – think of buying American goods.

Our current sale gives a FREE UPGRADE to Cordless shades, a child-safety feature. You can obtain immediate price quotes — or request FREE color samples.

I’ve been looking forward to today’s date for days: October 11, 2012 — or, 10/11/12. It just rolls off the tongue!

I couldn’t wait to point out the date to our Soft-Treatment Guru, a very lucky fellow who too-frequently wins with scratch tickets. Surely today would add to his luck! His reaction was very dull indeed…. Ah, balloon faded a bit…

…but balloon did not completely burst.

A look online and there I found others like me, intrigued by the sequence of numbers. Konstantin Kakaes even felt “in a slightly better mood than I usual am.”

Numbers are important to a company like CellularWindowShades.com — why? because without numbers, and accurate ones to boot, we couldn’t build our shades. EVERYthing is calculated beforehand so that all the parts fit together like a finely-crafted glove. In this instance, a glove against cold drafts and heating sun-rays.

So, while many couples will be hearing wedding bells on 12/12/12 – maybe more bridal homes would like a nuptials facelift along the lines of Dan in Maine. I still think his new skylight shades “rescued” the wedding!

On sale through the 23rd of September:

  • All Cellular Windows Shades
  • All Lift Options
  • even the ComforTrack side-track system

It’s all 15% off!

My title may be a bit fanciful, but what is an about-to-be Groom to do when guests are imminent and the house’s prominent SKYLIGHT shades look a bit worse for wear:

He calls CellularWindowShades.com and asks, “You’ve got an order for me – can I get that a few days sooner? I’m getting married next weekend.”

When I first spoke to Dan from Maine, it was late in the day, Production was gone (they begin their day while I’m still asleep!) and I could make no promises without discussing it first with the production manager. “I’ll see what I can do,” and promised to get back to him.

Barring the unforeseen (fabric or rail shortage, for instance) Production was able to say Yes to expediting Dan’s order. While every order and the circumstances surrounding its production will differ, we always do our best to accommodate requests. We do it willingly, and without additional cost to the consumer. UPS also offers faster than “ground” shipping (we charge just what UPS charges; never adding any surcharge), but Maine is one UPS-business day from us, so Dan didn’t even need to think about shipment.

Production team member Kate took Dan’s order and ran with it. It was ready for shipment the following Monday and in Dan’s hands the day before his requested date. Behind the scenes, a parts shortage did occur over (of all things) a special type of screw used to mount the side retainer tracks. But as you already know that Dan got his shades, I won’t say more about the nail-biting that went on here.

So there was joy around the offices of CellularWindowShades.com when Dan sent an email today – complete with photos! Here’s the end result, the “After” to go with his “Before” —
