The Inside Scoop at

Saving Daylight and Dollars

Posted on: November 18, 2010

It is late afternoon, a Thursday, and the day’s sun dapples the blue walls in front of the desk.

Don’t you wish you could bottle such a moment, for use later, when the cold has set in and the darkness settled?

It’s fall in Vermont, and the leaves are no longer on the trees in the Champlain Valley, where we’re located. Out the window there are still swathes of green bordering the roadway. The sun plays off the grass of the park opposite, turning the blades the most vibrant hue of golden-green; then the dust from the road-work blows across, momentarily obliterating the view!

At least the road-crew now have ceased their work for the day…

As the sun sets, the trees stand out, stark, dark, against the blue-sky light.

When the cool night settles in, how nice to pull down the shades and capture that sun’s heat inside. It’s not too often we have gotten SUN lately!
